This fun-filled adventure takes groups to the extraordinary
High Lonesome Hut, a beautiful, rustic cabin seated at 9,600
feet. Participants cross-country ski or snowshoe 2.5 miles
along a tree-lined trail that is of moderate difficulty and
gains 300 feet in elevation. The evening includes dinner,
games, music and an overnight stay. The next day, the group
skis or snowshoes back to the trailhead after breakfast with
the group.
Dates: Trips booked at
the convenience of both the group and NSCD.
Rates: $78 per person
Enjoy learning to cross-country ski or snowshoe in a beautiful,
quiet mountain setting at Devil's Thumb Ranch Resort. Cross-country
skiing is excellent exercise, as is snowshoeing. Instruction
is available to adults and children with disabilities who
ski standing or sitting. Half-day and full-day lessons are
available on Wednesday through Sunday beginning January 7,
2005 and continuing until March 14, 2005.
Dates: Individuals and
groups may sign-up for lessons on the following days but have
the option of joining for the entire session or just a few
days.
