Who can participate?
The NSCD provides therapeutic recreation programs designed
for individuals with disabilities who require adaptive equipment
and/or special instruction.
Winter Program Location
Alpine ski and snowboard lessons take place at Winter Park Resort. Located just 67 miles from Denver, Winter Park Resort annually receives more than 360 inches of snow on four mountains and 134 trails. Nordic skiing takes place at Devil's Thumb Ranch Resort Cross Country Center near Winter Park.
Parking & drop-off
from NSCD in advance
Individuals with disabilities traveling with a companion can
request a drop-off pass from the NSCD at time of reservation
or the gate attendant at Winter Park. For day parking, drivers
will need to either pay for parking at the base of Winter
Park Resort or park for free in an outlying lot and take a
shuttle back. People with mobility challenges traveling alone
can park in the designated parking spaces behind West Portal
Station or the Balcony House. Please request that parking
pass when you make your reservation.
Transportation
While individuals are responsible for their own transportation
to Winter Park, there are options for those who need a ride.
