February 12, 2008 - Denver - The National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) and the Colorado Mammoth are excited to host the 2008 Lacrosse AbilityCAMP this Saturday, February 16th at 10:00am. As part of the popular NSCD AbilityCAMP program, this free interactive clinic will allow children ages 6-18 with disabilities, either physical or developmental, to experience first hand the sport of lacrosse. The AbilityCAMP will include instruction and skill development, use of equipment, games, player and mascot appearances, prizes and lunch. The AbilityCAMP program is a series of one-day clinics designed to provide youth with disabilities an introduction to lacrosse. The program is operated by the NSCD in partnership with the Colorado Mammoth, Kroenke Sports Enterprises, community-based organizations and therapeutic agencies. The NSCD hosts camps in numerous cities around the nation including Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Kansas City, MO; Chicago, IL, St. Louis, MO; Washington DC and Portland, OR. In addition, through a partnership with U.S. Paralympics, the NSCD has implemented Soccer Ability Leagues in San Diego, Kansas City, Denver and Chicago.
